We are thrilled to invite you to our Givebutter Fundraiser, aimed at expanding our urban farm to better serve our community. With your generous support, we plan to create a space that not only offers organic produce and herbal medicine but also functions as an educational hub for youth, a plant nursery, and a rentable event space. Furthermore, we are proud to announce that we will also serve as the Delaware hub for the Mid-Atlantic Black Farmer Caucus.

Our Vision:

At Messiah’s Market Herbs & Horticulture, we believe in the transformative power of sustainable agriculture and community engagement. Our current urban farm has already been successful in providing fresh and organic produce to our community, but it's time to take it to the next level.

Expanding our urban farm will enable us to:

1. Serve as an Urban Community Farm: With more land and resources, we can increase our production capacity and provide an even wider range of organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs for the local community. This will contribute to food security, encourage healthier eating habits, and reduce the carbon footprint associated with long-distance food transportation.

2. Improve our Plant Nursery: By growing our plant nursery, we can raise and distribute more variety of seedlings and offer organic soils, and gardening supplies to our community. This initiative will not only empower individuals to grow their own food but also promote sustainability, as plants play a vital role in purifying the air and mitigating climate change.

3. Enhance 4-H Youth Education: Our expanded urban farm will offer a structured curriculum through partnerships with local schools and organizations, focusing on hands-on learning opportunities for young people. Through agricultural education, we aim to instill a sense of responsibility, environmental stewardship, and entrepreneurship in the next generation.

4. Provide Rentable Event Space: Our community deserves a versatile, green space where families, groups, and businesses can host events, workshops, and gatherings. The enhanced infrastructure resulting from the expansion will enable us to offer a beautiful, sustainable venue for weddings, parties, and educational events while generating additional revenue to sustain our initiatives.

5. Support the Mid-Atlantic Black Farmer Caucus: As the Delaware hub for the Mid-Atlantic Black Farmer Caucus, we will actively promote and sustain Black-owned and operated farms in the region. This partnership will provide not only networking opportunities, resources, and advocacy for historically marginalized individuals within the agricultural sector, but a regional online presence for other farmers.
