FIRST OF ALL - THANK YOU to our wonderful, supportive community and the local area businesses (Lake Country Lumber, Kutterwood Construction, P & J Services, Fuel Lab Nutrition Club, & Hole in the Wall Books & Records) that made last year's field transformation a success! Another shout-out to our baseball families for helping us put endless hours of blood, sweat, and love (no tears - there's no crying in baseball!) into this passion project!

We had a successful season and were often told by opposing teams that we had the nicest playing field! As you can see from our featured video here, we also made the local news! The story just recently won a broadcasting award, too! Pretty cool!

WE ARE WORKING ON IMPROVING THE FIELD EVEN MORE THIS YEAR!
Last year, snow fencing did not cut it. The wind alone caused many fencing problems, and by the end of the season, the fence was barely standing. It didn't look great, and it also caused issues while playing.

This weekend, we installed much sturdier fencing with strong posts and chain-link fencing. We've made sure to install 2 large 10ft gates that can be opened to allow vehicle access for events like Minong Days and the local Farmer's Market. We also have a walkthrough overlapping fence in centerfield for the same purpose. While this lot was donated for the purpose of youth baseball/recreation, we are still doing our best at keeping other community groups/events in mind while improving the field. We love and support everything Minong has to offer!

We are a family of 7, with our 5th baby having been born just weeks ago. As of right now, we've paid for all of this year's new fencing materials out of our own pockets. We also maintain the field all summer with our own equipment.

FIELD HISTORY:

The field was donated by Elmer "Pard" Adams, and was named, "Love Memorial Field" in memory of the 4 Love children (Jeanette, Jerrold, John, and Joseph Love; ages 14-10) that lost their lives 50 years ago this upcoming Mother's Day weekend in a horrific house fire here in Minong.
