Hi Family & Friends –
As some of you know, I joined the board of an amazing non-profit called Elevate Youth. Our mission is to provide kids in underserved communities with positive and empowering outdoor experiences. The Elevate Youth team runs programming including organized hikes, rock climbing, gardening, skiing, fishing, surfing, nature activities, and more. Many of the programs are collaborative partnerships with local schools in the Boston area.
Beyond providing youth who wouldn't otherwise have access to nature with safe and fun outdoor experiences, the programs provide participants with:
• Supportive adult mentors and role models
• Experiences that help build confidence and self-esteem
• Exposure to amazing natural environments creating a stronger sense of place
• New relationships and friendships
• Opportunities to be physically, mentally, and emotionally challenged in a safe way
We've just kicked off our end of year fundraiser – Pass the Torch – to help support programming costs including our amazing education managers and outdoor instructors who will lead outdoor programming in 2025. We're hoping to raise $100,000 for the organization, and I've set a personal goal to raise $5,000 between now and the end of the year. My fundraising page is here.
I'd appreciate it if you'd consider supporting the organization with a tax-deductible donation. Even just $25 can fund an outdoor experience for a participant. And if you're unable to, please check out the organization and help spread the word. I've included more information, a few photos, and examples of some recent events below.
Thank you!
Jay
