About The Red & Black

We publish news daily at redandblack.com and provide readers in-depth coverage in our print editions. We reach more than 2.3 million individual readers every year. We also produce videos, podcasts, social media updates, newsletters and magazines.

In our community, legacy news organizations slashed their staffs and cut back their publishing schedules. The Red & Black stepped in to fill the gap with an added city news desk and increased coverage of local issues.

Your support to our 501c3 nonprofit helps support the our news organization and its future. For more than 130 years, we have been training the future of the free press, and with your help, we will continue.

Donations fund our dual missions: serving UGA and Athens as a reliable, independent news source and training students for careers in journalism, business and creative industries. Donations allow us to expand our coverage, such as adding Spanish language translation or expanding our multimedia. Donations also help with essential expenses such as web hosting and newspaper printing.
