I went from inner-city Cleveland to Oberlin College and law school because people invested in my potential before the outcome was certain. BOSS provides boys with that same sustained belief, structure, and opportunity.

Our year-round, multiyear developmental infrastructure combines academic coaching, trusted relationships, family engagement, and whole-person development across six pillars: Economic, Emotional, Mental, Physical, Social, and Spiritual. We strengthen our developmental infrastructure through BOSSmatics™, which identifies and closes foundational math gaps; Career Navigator™, which turns strengths and interests into informed education and career pathways; Decision Lab™, which develops judgment before real-life decisions carry consequences; and our developing Dashboard, which turns student data into timely, tracked support. Together, they identify gaps, connect strengths to pathways, develop judgment and turn student data into timely support.

BOSS Connected extends our developmental infrastructure into college and careers, connecting alumni to professional networks, internships, employment opportunities, and ways to return as coaches and mentors for the next generation.

Your contribution will help us strengthen the developmental infrastructure that enables us to transform potential, which is universal, into preparation to meet access & opportunity, which are not universal.

Our impact includes the following:

College access and persistence: 90 of 93 BOSS graduates have continued to postsecondary education—approximately 97%.
Academic growth: Assessed scholars gained an average of 1.6 grade levels in math and 1.9 in reading from August 2025 through May 2026.
Stronger proficiency: In previously shared assessment data, 52% performed at or above grade level in math versus 32% of district peers; 60% in reading versus 50%.
Whole-person development: Scholars build confidence, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, financial capability, physical well-being, ethical judgment, and leadership through the six BOSS pillars.
Degrees and careers: Alumni have graduated from institutions including UCLA, Stanford, SJSU, SDSU, CSUN, and CSULB, with career pathways including Google, Accenture, engineering, and military service.
Sustained support: BOSS stays alongside boys from middle school into college and careers, providing consistent coaching, accountability, family engagement, and access to professional networks.
Leadership that multiplies: Alumni return as paid coaches, mentors, and role models; BOSS Connected extends support into internships, employment, and service to the next generation.
Access without a financial barrier: Families receive academic support, learning tools, mentoring, and college and career preparation at no cost.

Testimonials:

Being a part of BOSS reminds me of the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child." BOSS provides my sons with opportunities to learn from positive male role models. They learn skills that promote resilience, determination, and confidence, which have led to growth and success inside and outside the classroom. - Kim (A mother with two sons who are BOSS scholars)

BOSS is an important program to be in because it gives me the chance to work on ME and be the best that I can be. I like the guest speakers and meeting people who have achieved success throughout their journey of life. - Elijah (A 6th grade BOSS scholar)

BOSS is special because it develops young boys and builds them into bright men. We learn things at BOSS that other programs don’t teach… like self-restraint, delayed gratification and a growth mindset. - Alexander (An 8th grade BOSS scholar)

The BOSS program is like no other! It’s not just an academic or athletic program… It’s a program that uses a holistic approach and cultivates the greatness that our sons have within. It’s a game changer for our boys and we’re thankful to be a part of the BOSS family. - Mr. & Mrs. Bond (parents of two BOSS scholars)
