The Early Birds Social Worker Development program directly serves high school students attending Auburn High School who have an expressed interest in the mental health field. The Early Birds program at Auburn High School focuses on equipping students with comprehensive social work education and practical experiences through apprenticeships. This initiative not only educates students on critical community issues but also empowers them to apply their knowledge in real-life settings, promoting community improvement and personal development.

During the 2023-2024 school year The Early Birds Program:

Served 9 high school participants by providing them with an unprecedented access to social work education, apprenticeships, and incentives for program participation and completion.
Directly served a total of 28 Rockford area youth by providing valued mental health information through groups and educational workshops.
Made countless indirect impacts through community events that demonstrated program impact and through the social connections in which our participants live, learn, and play.
Provided $1,500 in educational stipends.
