When we first arrived on the sun-dappled riverbanks of the Brazilian Amazon in 2023, we came seeking personal transformation—hoping to learn, heal, and experience the living spirit of the rainforest.

Instead, the Nomanawa people welcomed us with open arms. Their voices rose in song and dance, weaving together rhythm, prayer, and joy in a celebration of life so profound it forever changed us.

In that moment of shared humanity, we felt both the power of community and the responsibility it brings: to give back, to uplift, and to stand beside those who protect the lungs of our planet.

From that encounter emerged a shared vision—to strengthen the village through infrastructure that honors both traditional knowledge and the living forest.

Today many families still live with unstable structures and limited access to clean water and reliable energy. With the community’s guidance, we are working to expand and rebuild essential infrastructure using respectful building practices aligned with Noke Koi traditions and the rhythms of the rainforest.

With your partnership, we aim to raise $1,000,000 to support the construction of homes, wells, solar and the broader cultural and ceremonial center.

Community Infrastructure

• 50-meter ceremonial Cupixawa / Maloca for gatherings and ceremonies
• Ceremonial house of study around the sacred Samaúma tree
• Solar power systems for sustainable village energy
• Water wells providing safe drinking water
• Community kitchen and bathrooms
• Visitor housing for conferences and cultural exchange

Village Housing

• 16 family homes (10×10 ft with durable aluminum roofs)
• 4 larger homes (10×14 ft with eco-friendly zinc roofs)

These homes will do far more than shelter families from the rain.

They will protect elders sharing oral histories, mothers raising the next guardians of the forest, children learning ancestral songs, and spiritual leaders guiding ceremonies beneath beams crafted with care and reverence.

Each home becomes a sanctuary of culture, healing, and community.

A house was built in Noke Koi Village in 2025.

Your support covers:

🪵 $7,000 – Materials & Skilled Local Carpentry
- Sustainably sourced hardwood for framing, flooring, and roofing
- Hand-crafted joinery by Noke Koi carpenters, whose expert skills preserve ancestral techniques
🚤 $1,400 – Transportation & Logistics
- Riverboat charter and crew to move heavy timbers from the harvest site to the village
- Coordination of loading, unloading, and on-site handling
⛽ $500 – Fuel for Transport & Hauling Wood
- Diesel and maintenance for boat engines and any motorized tools (extra rudders)
- Ensures consistent, reliable deliveries even during seasonal river level changes
🍲 $300 – Food & Support for Tribal Workers
- Nutritious meals, fresh water, and small food stipends for the families who build each home

A transformational leadership gift supporting the long-term vision of the Noke Koi Federation and the full development of the Noke Koi Cultural and Ceremonial Campus.
