Thank you for registering for Chalk the Walk for Mental Health in West Acton!

Chalk the Walk kicks off Tuesday, November 1st and goes through Saturday, November 5th. Pick up your chalk outside the A-B United Way office, upstairs at Villageworks (above Acton Coffee House), 525 Massachusetts Ave, Acton. The double doors into Villageworks are open 9-5 each day. If you need to pick up your chalk outside those hours, please email Katie at kneville@abuw.org and we'll make another arrangement.

You'll find a clipboard to sign-in, and packets of chalk; please take one for each square you registered for.

You may choose a sidewalk square anywhere along Massachusetts Ave, from Villageworks up to the lights at Central Street, or on the loop down Spruce Street and back up Arlington to Central. By Villageworks there are some squares outlined as to make sure we're not in the way of business entrances; along the rest of the route please be respectful of our business partners as you select your square.

We're excited to see your creativity! A-B United Way will be monitoring the chalk art throughout this event, will remove anything deemed offensive, and will not permit any electoral campaign content.

Let this be just the beginning. ABUW is engaged in a multi-year project to enhance community-based mental health resilience.

We encourage you to participate in ABUW's online survey on community mental health resilience. We invite ALL community members (ages 13+) to participate. By completing this survey, you are helping us to better understand where neighbors turn for resources and information, strengths within Acton and Boxborough, and where we can add the most value in new programming and initiatives.

Additionally, as part of our commitment to improving mental health we are collecting stories from residents who have faced mental health challenges.

We see this as an opportunity to educate people about mental health, address stigma (negative attitudes) and ultimately empower our community with coping skills to build resilience. We invite you to participate in this unique opportunity to share your own experience, describe your journey, and teach others not only about the challenges you endured but also about the resources, support systems and skills you found helpful along the way.
