Fund 30 Full Scholarships for Baltimore Youth

For the past 13 years, Beat the Streets Baltimore has offered more than a summer camp - it has created a powerful space where youth from across the city experience structure, safety, and transformation.

This is not just about wrestling. This is about giving students, ages 8 to 15, the chance to learn, grow, and believe in their future. We need to raise $32,250 to provide 30 full scholarships for students to attend our 5-week summer program - an opportunity many of them would never have without your help.

Each scholarship covers $215 per week for a total of $1,075 per camper. Your support opens the door to a summer filled with academic growth, cultural exposure, personal development, and leadership training.

What Makes This Camp Transformational?

Wrestling Instruction That Builds Character
Through daily amateur wrestling sessions, youth learn discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and mental toughness. The skills developed on the mat carry over to the classroom and to life.

Academic Acceleration Through Personalized Learning
Campers receive one-on-one and small group support in Math and English Language Arts. Using proven interventions and adaptive technology, we help close learning gaps and fight summer learning loss with measurable results.

Artificial Intelligence Exploration
Campers explore Artificial Intelligence by using tools like ChatGPT, DeepSeek and image generators to complete fun, creative challenges. They'll learn:

What AI is and how it works in the real world.
How to responsibly use AI tools for writing, problem solving, and research.
How to think critically about technology and its role in the future.These activities demystify AI while making it exciting, empowering students to see themselves as future tech creators, not just consumers

Junior Solar Sprint (JSS) STEM Competition
In partnership with the Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP), our campers participate in the Junior Solar Sprint. This STEM competition challenges students to design, build, and race solar-powered model cars. Through this hands-on project, students apply principles of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, while developing teamwork and problem-solving skills. Students learn:

How solar energy works and how it can be used to power devices.
Basic mechanical engineering principles, including gear ratios, torque, and aerodynamics.
Design-thinking and the engineering process, from planning to prototyping to testing.
Measurement, data collection, and iteration, using trial and error to improve performance.
Collaboration and communication, as they work in teams to construct, test, and refine their solar-powered cars.

Campers not only build and race their own solar vehicles, but also compete in friendly challenges to test speed, efficiency, and creativity—reinforcing key science and math concepts through engaging, hands-on exploration.

End-of-Camp Wrestling Tournament
The program concludes with an exciting, high-energy tournament where every camper competes in front of family, friends, and community. It’s a celebration of effort, growth, and commitment.
