Akron Cooperative Farms began as a result of great need, then inspiration, hope, and a patch of land we believed could become something meaningful. Seven years later, it has grown into a vibrant home for more than 130 gardeners and their families, a gathering place for youth and schools, and a space where cultures, traditions, and knowledge are shared freely and joyfully. Each season, the land teaches us to be patient, to stay curious, to care for one another, and to trust that small acts of tending can grow into something much bigger.

As we look toward the year ahead, our work is shifting from planting new seeds to strengthening the roots that will sustain the Farm long into the future. We are no longer a brand-new nonprofit—we’re becoming a long-term community resource. And to carry this work forward, we need steadiness. We need the kind of support that allows us to plan, repair, teach, grow, and welcome with confidence.
