Framing the Future

For nearly 40 years, Aid to Inmate Mothers (AIM) has worked to strengthen the bond between incarcerated mothers and their children and to support women as they prepare for life beyond incarceration.

Framing the Future is more than an art show. It is a celebration of family, connection, hope, and the possibilities that remain even during some of life’s most difficult circumstances.

Throughout October, we will share artwork inspired by the mothers, children, and families connected to AIM. Each piece tells part of a larger story—of love that continues across distance, families working to stay connected, and women preparing to build stronger futures for themselves and their children.

Join Us Throughout October

Our virtual art show will run October 1–31, 2026. Supporters will have the opportunity to view featured artwork, learn more about the stories and inspiration behind the pieces, make a donation, and support the work of Aid to Inmate Mothers.

We will conclude Framing the Future with an in-person reception on November 5, 2026, bringing together supporters, community partners, friends of AIM, and those who believe in the power of families staying connected.

Funds raised through Framing the Future help AIM continue programs that serve incarcerated mothers, their children, and women returning to the community. These services include:

Monthly mother-child visitation
Parenting education and family support
Storybook and family connection programs
Reentry and aftercare services
Employment readiness and life-skills support
Transitional housing for women returning home from incarceration

About Aid to Inmate Mothers

Aid to Inmate Mothers was founded in 1987 after a group of community organizations and volunteers recognized that many incarcerated mothers rarely, if ever, saw their children. Since becoming an independent nonprofit organization in 1990, AIM has expanded from its original visitation program into a comprehensive network of family support, education, reentry, employment, and transitional housing services.
