#Sprint4Syngap2024!

Join in SynGAP Research Fund's fourth annual #Sprint4Syngap Spring 5K fun run! This is a virtual event and will take place on Saturday April 27th, 2024. While we are calling it a 5K, the idea is to have fun! Crawl, walk, sprint, or don't do any race at all! We encourage you to invite your family, friends, and neighbors to participate! Registration is free! See instructions below to learn how you can setup a fundraising page for your child/family, and easily invite others to join in your fundraising efforts!

What are we raising money for? SYNGAP1 research! SYNGAP1 is a rare neurodevelopmental disorder caused by a genetic variant (minor typo in a patient's DNA). This variant causes all of the symptoms in SYNGAP patients: intellectual disability, epilepsy, autism, hypotonia (muscle weakness), limited speech (non-verbal), poor sleep and severe behaviors.

Since 2018, SynGAP Research Fund has raised/granted over $5M to SYNGAP science to accelerate therapeutics for our loved ones. Treatments are within reach, but we cannot slow down now!

How to participate:

1. Register for #Sprint4Syngap by setting up a personal fundraising team! Simply click “Fundraise” under this years projected goal to create your own team member page, follow the instructions, and customize with your own content!

2. Share your fundraising page via social media and email and start raising funds for SRF!

3. Expand SRF's reach by asking family and friends to join our fundraiser! You can instruct them to create a fundraising page just like you did!

4. Increase Awareness! Post photos with your family/friends during your virtual 5K and let us know who you are running for! Use hashtag #Sprint4Syngap on all social media platforms!

5. Raise funds on your personal fundraising page and SRF will send you the following:

Raise $1,000: Get a SynGAP Research Fund Travel Mug with handle
