The American Museum of Ceramic Art is fundraising for our first-ever capital campaign to raise $2,300,000 for a facility upgrade that will transform and strengthen AMOCA’s ambitious education, community, and family programs.

Your support will help complete the construction of our expanded Education Hall, our new Kids Makerspace, a Collection Study Room, a Curatorial Preparation Space, a Reading Lounge, and new, accessible bathrooms.

We’re in the final stages of this 7,000+ square foot project: we moved the library to the second floor, installed the two ramps connecting Armstrong Gallery to Gallery B and the new Education Hall, completed construction of the Curatorial Preparation Space, and installed plumbing and electrical. We’ve just finished construction of the walls of the new restrooms and Education Hall, and are nearly done with flooring upgrades. We expect to complete the project by December 2025.

In addition to the improvements listed above, two new opportunities arose during the initial phases of the campaign. A public studio classroom was funded for new lighting, wheels, HVAC, sinks, shelving, and other studio furniture. We also partnered with ReJoule to provide our facility with 100 solar panels and a battery system, partially funded through a state grant for sustainable energy initiatives. Not only will that help us reduce costs for the Museum and Studio, but it will also allow AMOCA to act as a cooling center for our community during power outages.
