We need spaces like the ARCC when wars and violent attacks by this nation against sovereign nations outside and within this country continue to escalate, and terror campaigns are waged against the people of our communities. Organizing for praxis is vital!

On this last day of black history month, the people of our community are the ARCC. With over 125 donations and close to $14,000 raised, you have raised your voices in the support of the ARCC and given the org time to continue our programming while continuing to fundraise.

The AJ Williams-Myers African Roots Community Center (ARCC) needs your help to keep our doors open! 2025 was the first year we were in the red and we are in desperate need of donations to keep afloat. ARCC is a home to multiple community organizing groups including Wednesday Walk 4 Black Lives, Ulster County Mutual Aid, and other racial justice activism and organizing initiatives. ARCC is home to arts and youth programming for local residents to get in touch with their African heritage, home to an extensive library with difficult to find books around Black liberation and history and includes local black and indigenous authors. We need the ARCC! In a landscape of a rapidly gentrifying Kingston, we need the ARCC as a center for organizing and resistance. If you want to play your part in fighting fascism, start by supporting local BIPOC led organizing in your community of Kingston, NY.

At the AJ Williams-Myers African Roots Community Center, it is our mission to uplift the history and culture of Black, Indigenous and People of Color. Through our library collection, and in collaboration with community groups and organizations we offer programs for children, teens, adults, and elders. We are committed to the advancement of historical knowledge, cultural enrichment, civic engagement, and racial justice.
