Story
Last year we held our first ever “Music in the Key of Connection” online fundraiser. This musical extravaganza was such a hit that we decided to make it an annual event -- so please join us for Music in the Key of Connection 2021!
In 2021, a year that we all hoped would see the end of the pandemic, it has become more important than ever to fulfill our mission of providing opportunities for connection and joy to people living with dementia and their care partners through interactions around arts and culture. As we reflect on the connections we have made with each other this year and as we look forward to all the ways we hope to connect next year (some in person!), we invite you to come together with us for a night of music that celebrates and stimulates those connections.
MUSIC FRONT AND CENTER at ARTZ Philly...
During 2021, music moved front and center at ARTZ Philadelphia, with the first full year of our popular ARTZ Notes program and the launch of our new Music in the Neighborhood project. Both have been bringing live (and live-streamed) music into the communities we serve to create shared experiences of joy. That joy was palpable as community members in North Philadelphia were able to share (safely distanced) space in person for great monthly performances by local bands, and as members of our wider ARTZ community gathered online each month for intimate, interactive, multicultural group programs facilitated by guest artists. As we share that same joy together during this fundraiser, singing, dancing and sharing virtual space with each other, we will be asking for your help to make possible another year of music at ARTZ Philadelphia... and so much more.
So please Join us on December 11th for our second annual Music in the Key of Connection fundraiser! By purchasing a ticket, you will not only be giving yourself the gift of connection through music, but bringing that gift to so many others by supporting ARTZ programming. And, better yet, you can join in to this live-streamed event right from the comfort of your own home!
Over the next three weeks leading up to the December 11th live concert, we will introduce you to the superb musicians from around our region who will be performing for you. Musicians will include Keisha Hutchins Hirlinger (our beloved lead program facilitator and curator for ARTZ Notes), Alex Levin (back by popular demand!), Raji Malik (from our October ARTZ Notes), Mike Boone (renowned jazz bassist and Music in the Neighborhood performer), Paul Giess (from our November ARTZ Notes), and Ash Phillips (also back from last year by popular demand!). They will be playing original music and covers in a broad spectrum of styles ranging from contemporary jazz, to soul, to 'modern fingerstyle' acoustic guitar and more!
Music is a universal language, that has incredible power to bring people together across all sorts of barriers. Help us break down the barriers that so many of those living with dementia and caring for their loved ones experience by joining us for this very special fundraiser.
Please save the date for our second annual live-streamed, live music ARTZ Philadelphia fundraiser on Saturday, December 11, starting at 7:30 PM.
Por favor, reserve la fecha para la recaudación de fondos de ARTZ Philadelphia con música en vivo transmitida en vivo el sábado 11 de diciembre a partir de las 7:30.
And if you can't make it to the live event but still want to participate, your ticket gives you access to a recording of all the festivities!
