Warm Hearts, Full Plates for Gaza: A Season of Giving

Do you know what it's like to watch your family go hungry? I do. I’m Hani Almadhoun, and my family lives in North Gaza, where food is scarce, and hunger is a daily reality. With aid blocked at the borders, we couldn't just sit back and hope. We took action. My brother, Mahmoud, and a few friends gathered whatever they could—pots, firewood, potatoes, tomato paste—and started cooking. That first night, 120 families had a hot meal. The next day, it was 150.

Word spread quickly. Every day, more people showed up, and Mahmoud kept cooking—finding fresh greens, onions, and mushrooms wherever he could. Today, the Gaza Soup Kitchen serves up to 6,000 people daily, offering meals that bring relief and dignity. For many, it's the first real meal they've had in days, made with the same care we’d give to our own family.

This is the season of giving—a time to share what we have and ensure no one is left behind.
