Staying to Empower Haiti

From Leadership Development to Entrepreneurship: Eval Tijeune's Journey of Empowerment in Haiti.

Let's Encourage Eval TiJeune To Stay In Haiti To Empower His Community.

THE STORY

Eval Tijeune, a determined young man from Haiti, embarked on a life-changing journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Through a leadership development program spearheaded by Haitileve, he gained invaluable skills in technology and entrepreneurship. In July 2022, Eval opened a small restaurant in Hinche, but he soon realized the untapped potential in the bread market. With resilience and innovation, he transformed his restaurant into a thriving bakery.

Despite facing numerous challenges such as power outages, limited production capacity, and inflation, Eval's bakery is profitable. He didn't stop there; he created a zero-down microcredit program for vulnerable women, empowering them to resell bread at a net profit and escape the cycle of poverty.

Eval's vision extends beyond his bakery; he dreams of purchasing commercial-grade equipment to meet the soaring demand, create more job opportunities, and boost the local economy. His journey is an embodiment of the determination, passion, and the indomitable spirit of Haiti.

Now, Eval stands at a crucial juncture, seeking support from the world to turn his dreams into reality. Together, we can empower Haiti, ignite hope, and build a future brimming with promise and opportunity.

THE NEED

The restaurant business is not generating enough revenue so that the local team can sustain themselves and to cover administrative cost to run the business due to a multitude of constraints.

1) They recently stole our motorcycle which the team use for delivery

2) The team is currently using residential bakery equipment which limit their production capacity to only 25 bread per hour

3)  The team has reduced access to electricity from the grid which represent a major constraint to use the dough maker

HOW CAN YOU HELP.

1) Donate monthly to encourage the team to stay in their country to help their community.
