Aging Matters, also known as the Southeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging, is a not-for-profit organization serving the older adults in Southeast Missouri.

We proudly provide meals, transportation, caregiver support, and vital resources to help older adults stay healthy, independent, and connected. Every year, we connect with over 31,000 older adults and caregivers across our 18-county region in Southeast Missouri.

When funding falls short,

older adults feel the impact immediately.

Recently, one of our meal recipients — a woman who lives alone — fell.

She typically depends on her meal driver to check in on her, often the only person she sees each day.

But due to reduced service days in some counties, no one arrived. She lay on the floor until a neighbor found her hours later.
