Allan Feliz, a beloved father, son, and brother, was shot and killed by Lt. Jonathan Rivera after NYPD offiers illegally detained Allan during a car stop in the Bronx on October 17, 2019. The Feliz family, alongside with JC, has never stopped fighting for justice for Allan.

Half a decade is FAR TO LONG for a family to have to fight for answers and some semblance of justice for their loved one’s murder by the NYPD, but the NYPD, the administration and the Lieutenant’s police union have done everything in their power toobstruct the discipline process and protect Lt. Rivera from facing consequences for his brutal murder of Allan Feliz.

The NYPD’s Force Investigation Division kept their investigation open for almost two years, stalling the CCRB investigation past the 18-month deadline for most misconduct charges.
After the CCRB substantiated fire-able charges against Lt. Rivera over a year ago in May 2023, the lieutenant’s police union tried and failed to get the CCRB to re-open its investigation and reverse its decision.
For over a year, the NYPD toyed with the idea of taking the case away from the CCRB, all the while dragging their feet on serving the charges so that a disciplinary trial can be scheduled.

It’s been five years since Allan was unjustly killed by the NYPD and a disciplinary trial was only just scheduled for November 12, 13, and 15, thanks to the tireless organizing of the Feliz family. They’re demanding the Mayor and the NYPD stop their pattern of violence, corruption, and impunity by firing Lt. Rivera.
