In Loving Memory of our Mom.
Our Mom was the heart of our family. She was beautiful, outgoing, fun-loving and full of life. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her children, grandchildren and her family. She was the person who made every gathering feel special. Then little by little we began to notice changes. At first they were easy to dismiss, small amount of forgetfulness or confusion. But those moment became more frequent, and before long, we realized we're facing something bigger.
Alzheimer's disease slowly began to steal the woman we knew and loved. Her vibrant personality, the essence of who she was started to fade. Her walk changed, simple tasks became difficult and eventually the disease brought the the heartbreaking combative phase that so many families experience. Watching someone you love transform into a person you don't recognize is a pain that is impossible to put into words.
Alzheimer's didn't just affect our Mom it affected our entire family. It robbed us of conversations, memories, laughter and precious moments. While she remained with us the disease gradually took pieces of away every day.
Today we honor our Mom by turning our grief into purpose.
We are raising funds in her memory to help increase awareness, support families and advance the research needed to find better treatment and one day a cure. No family should have to watch someone they love disappear before their eyes.
