Story
Happy Giving Tuesday 2022. We represent different arts organizations in Silicon Valley. Every year, we join together for a collaborative Giving Tuesday campaign that we call “Amplify the Arts.” It highlights that we are stronger together, and this year is no different.
It’s no secret that the Covid-19 crisis put many companies through tough times. Through the help of government grants and supporters like you, we managed to survive the storm.
Today we are faced with new challenges. We are no longer receiving government support, inflation is making everything cost more, and many artists have moved out of the area.
Even though we’re not all back to pre-pandemic numbers, we are still working hard and providing for our community. Between teaching artists, performers on stage, directors, stage managers, and everyone who works on the craft, we have engaged with almost 2,000 artists in the past year. And together we’ve served over 120,000 audience members. Nearly 25% of those being under the age of 30.
If the pandemic was the downpour that flooded us into the ground, with your help, now is the time for us to burst through the soil and start growing tall and strong. Our goal this year is to raise fifty thousand dollars. And whatever amount we do end up with, will be equally split amongst all of our organizations.
The arts aren't going anywhere, and neither are we. Amplify the arts. So together our community can not just survive, but thrive.
City Lights Theater is acting as a fiscal sponsor and all donations will be equally distributed amongst the organizations.
