For three years, we at Together with Families have had the privilege of knowing Annalinda. She was once homeless, and during that vulnerable time, her older children were taken into foster care, where they tragically experienced abuse and immense hardship. Despite living in poverty, the state placed her on child support, adding another burden when she was just trying to survive.

But Annalinda didn’t let this break her spirit. She fought back, got clean, and rebuilt her life. Today, she’s a devoted mother to her two younger children, who are thriving under her care. Yet, the weight of the back child support she owes—$12,685.20—looms large, casting a dark shadow over her life.

With her driver's license suspended due to this debt, even everyday tasks have become challenges. The most frightening part? Annalinda faces the terrifying possibility of jail time for this debt.

Recently, in a moment of fear, Annalinda asked us at Together with Families if we could care for her children if she ends up in jail, so they wouldn’t have to go into foster care, where her older children suffered so much.
