When I first saw Lena’s stunning paintings of pigs as astronauts, I couldn’t stop picturing Amber as an astronaut. Weightless, free, floating through space without gravity holding her back.

Amber lives with a disability that leaves her unable to stand on her back legs. Which means gravity isn’t always kind to her. But in space? In space she could float. She could move freely. She could just be.

That thought brought tears to my eyes...and I knew the world needed to see her that way.

We commissioned Lena to bring that vision to life, and what she created absolutely took our breath away. This painting captures Amber’s spirit so perfectly. her sweetness, her curiosity, her quiet strength, and that spark of the wonder she carries with her every day.
