Michael has spent more than 14 months in Sheba Hospital recovering from a devastating drone attack while serving in reserves. His injuries, especially the traumatic brain injury and hearing loss, have made the road ahead incredibly difficult. But throughout everything, he found one lifeline that kept him going - art.

Your generosity is what makes it possible for him to take this next step.

You are helping us bring him to Los Angeles safely, surrounding him with trauma-informed care, creative guidance, and a community that will hold him through this process. This residency has the potential to change the trajectory of his life, giving him space, calm, and support he cannot access right now in Israel’s overwhelmed system.

Tomer Peretz, a distinguished artist and survivor of trauma from his military service between 2000 and 2004, as well as his volunteer efforts on October 7th, assisting in clearing deceased individuals from kibbutz Beeri and its surroundings alongside the organization Zaka, founded 8, an art therapy nonprofit offering a unique approach to healing. Having experienced personal transformations through art during his time as a soldier and later as an artist, Tomer deeply understands the profound impact of artistic expression in processing and overcoming trauma.
