BRONX STUDENTS NEED YOUR HELP!

Bronx Arts Ensemble (BAE) will NOT be able to provide arts education programs to students in 45 NYC public schools this year without YOU!

Due to recently announced massive cuts in NYC school funding, BAE’s positive academic and social-emotional development achievements will only continue in 2024 with YOUR help. Funding cuts will undoubtedly interrupt students’ progress in some of the most impoverished New York City communities.

Here are stories from some of the schools YOU help us serve:

At PS 58 in the Bronx, our teaching artist recently worked with students in grades K – 3 on a visual arts project centered on vocabulary and word identification. This helped to improve the students' reading skills. BAE also implemented a successful community-building project at the school that engaged parents and grandparents in artmaking.
Over the past three years, BAE created a visual arts program at the New School for Leadership & Arts (MS 244) for multilingual learners and students with disabilities in grades 6 – 8 in the Kingsbridge Heights community of the Bronx.
A 15-week music program offered to students in grades 1 - 5 at PS 114 involved singing in a choir and playing African drums during the school year.
BAE’s full-year arts education program at Highbridge Green Middle School provides students with enriching dance and music production courses.
Naheliz, a student at Highbridge Green, shares her thoughts about her experience in BAE’s dance programs:

"I enjoy Caribbean dance class because it’s a way to embrace my Dominican culture in the form of dance like merengue and bachata.”
