Thank you for supporting our Ducks by supporting the Davis Magnet Education Foundation. The Davis Magnet community is special—bringing together students and families from across our district in a supportive and engaging academic environment. We're fortunate to have not only the dedication of an incredible team of teachers and staff, but also two volunteer-led organizations that work—independently and collaboratively—to enrich the experience of every student at our school.

Two Organizations, One Purpose: Supporting Our Ducklings

Both the PTA and Foundation have one goal: to enhance the educational environment at Davis Magnet. Together, we fund vital programs, classroom supplies, campus improvements, and enrichment opportunities that would not be possible through public funding alone.

What’s the Difference between the PTA and the Foundation?

While we share a common purpose, the ways we raise funds and how they’re used differ:

Davis Magnet PTA, part of the California PTA and National PTA, focuses on building community and supporting day-to-day school life. PTA funds are used for student classroom supplies, campus and community events, field trips, teacher appreciation, educational enrichments, assemblies, and wellness initiatives. Donations typically come in the form of membership, community sponsorships, and two annual fundraisers (fall and spring).
Davis Magnet Educational Foundation works to support long-term educational growth by funding technology, STEM-focused curriculum enhancements, and academic specialists in the form of extra teachers (such as the Technology Enrichment Teacher for the upcoming school year). Contributions often come in the form of one-time or recurring donations (BBFD), employer matching gifts, Davis Golf Classic, and our Spring Gala.

We encourage you to get involved with both organizations in any way that works for your family—whether through time, talent, or financial contributions. No matter how you choose to give, your support has a direct impact on our students’ learning and growth.

Davis has built a phenomenal village to support your children. The time and financial contributions from our families provide the school with the tools needed to help keep Davis as one of the top elementary schools in the nation.

What is the Davis Magnet School Education Foundation?

It is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, tax ID #: 47-1819303, formed with the sole purpose of financially supporting Davis Magnet School.

What is Big Bucks For Ducks?

It is one of two primary fundraisers that you can donate to that is supported by the Davis Magnet School Education Foundation. At the beginning of every school year, we ask each family to make a donation to the Big Bucks for Ducks fundraiser. All funds raised go directly to the school and are used to support the needs of the students, teachers, and staff.

How much do I need to donate to the Foundation?

A donation of $250 per student will help us to meet our BBFD goal of $55,000, and this school year's goal of raising $100,000. We ask that you think about what your best gift is and contribute what you can. Maybe it’s more than $250/student, maybe it’s less, but every donation helps. Donations can be made in one lump sum or divided into smaller amounts paid on a monthly basis to spread out the cost.

We also accept donations from company matching programs and encourage you to send a link to this page to friends, family, and neighbors who are interested in supporting your child’s education and helping us to meet our goal. Remember all donations are tax-deductible!!

Can I just donate to the PTA or the Foundation? Do I have to do both?

The Foundation and the PTA are both important organizations that help fund the school. If you are able to donate to both, we ask that you please do as the funds are vital to enhance the experiences of all children at Davis.
