Simple, safe and affordable housing is critical to the health and success of all families. For nearly 50 years, the Habitat for Humanity Christian housing ministry has pulled together volunteers and resources to make affordable housing a reality in all 50 states and roughly 70 countries worldwide.

Personally having led Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity for ten years until retiring in 2019, I have seen up close the incredible impact housing has had on families right here in Boone, Greene and Guthrie Counties. Each of us has the opportunity to ensure these critical efforts continue and succeed, with the most simple way to do so in front of you right now.

The ride won't be easy, our first day is 101 miles long, but I willingly accept the challenge in hopes it will inspire others to do the truly heavy lifting of supporting our local volunteers' as they work alongside Habitat homeowners to build and repair even more houses.
