In rural East Texas, puppies don’t get a second chance.

There is no animal control.
Shelters are beyond capacity.
And when unwanted puppies are dumped on dirt roads, fields, or empty properties, there is often no one coming.

Except us.

That Crazy Dog Lady Rescue Resource began as one woman refusing to look away.

Our founder and president, Vanessa Cogswell, became known in her community as “That Crazy Dog Lady” because she kept doing what others wouldn’t—picking up dumped puppies, finding fosters, arranging vet care, and fighting for lives that were otherwise invisible.

What started as one person’s determination has grown into a nonprofit rescue organization with:

a network of foster homes
volunteer transporters
community support across multiple regions

And still—the need keeps coming.

The Reality We’re Facing

We are contacted constantly about abandoned puppies and dogs needing help. The requests don’t stop. The emergencies don’t slow down.

What does run out?

funds for vet care
money for spay/neuter
support for fosters who open their homes again and again

We don’t have a safety net.
We are the safety net.

And right now, we’re stretched thin.

Why We’re Asking for a Big Push

This fundraiser isn’t about one puppy.

It’s about sustainability.

It’s about keeping vet bills paid so we’re not forced to choose between lives.
It’s about properly supporting fosters so they can keep saying “yes.”
It’s about ensuring that when the next call comes—and it will—we don’t have to say, “We can’t help.”

We are raising $50,000 or more to:

cover outstanding and ongoing veterinary expenses
fund emergency care for dumped and abandoned puppies
support our foster network with supplies, food, and medical needs
stabilize the rescue so we can focus on saving lives—not constant crisis fundraising

What Makes This Rescue Different

We don’t have a building.
We don’t have paid staff.
We don’t have a government contract.

What we have is commitment.

Every dollar goes directly toward saving and supporting dogs who would otherwise be forgotten.
