Local Tree Fruit Farmers Need Your Support

Many of our beloved Bucks County orchard farms suffered devastating crop losses this year after an April cold snap damaged up to 98% of the blossoms on cherries, peaches, pears, apples, nectarines, and apricots across our region. As a result, these orchards will produce little to no fruit this season.

Our farmers are resilient and hardworking, but a year without a harvest brings significant financial challenges. While these farms will continue operating, they need our community’s support to help offset major revenue losses and ensure they can continue caring for their land, workers, and orchards for years to come.

Without their expected fruit income, farms are facing losses related to:

Paying wages for farm staff and H-2A seasonal workers, as farm work continues year-round even when crops fail
Lost revenue from the fruit and value-added products such as cider, applesauce, baked goods, and preserves
Lost income from fewer events that families look forward to each year

Continue shopping at their farm stands, retail stores, and local farmers markets
Visit Owowcow Creamery and purchase a fruit flavored ice cream. Owowcow is donating a portion of every fruit ice cream to this campaign. Visit Amara Kitchen at Roots to River Farm and order the "Solebury Cocktail" they are donating all proceeds to this campaign.

The Bucks County Foodshed Alliance (BCFA) will distribute all funds raised through this campaign directly to impacted Bucks County fruit tree growers based on demonstrated need.
