THANK YOU for supporting our conservation efforts! 🎉

On Saturday 14th May—Global Big Day 2022—you helped us to achieve another amazing day of birdwatching, reconnecting with nature and each other, and raising funds to help build the skills of young Caribbean conservationists.

This year we had 16 teams participating. Checklists are still being entered into eBird, but the Bee Hummers Dream Team has the early lead for most species seen by a team and the most checklists! We will publish final results with lots more fun summary stats and awards soon!

Thanks to all the team leaders and members for recruiting others to join in our #GlobalBigDayBirdsCarib campaign for 2022 and donating! Thanks to you, we have raised a total of $13,734!!! Your gifts will help us to provide Travel Scholarships for deserving Caribbean nationals to attend the AOS-BC Conference in Puerto Rico in June—a life-changing experience. We appreciate your enthusiasm and for believing in the work we do. We are grateful to all of our tireless bird advocates – NGOs, governments, law enforcement agencies, researchers, photographers, novice birders, veteran birders, and of course to our members and passionate supporters across the region and globe!

With you by our side we continue to make great strides in protecting birds and their homes, supporting communities, and sustaining future generations of bird advocates to come.

Thanks again for helping us to ensure that Caribbean birds and nature and the local people and organizations that work tirelessly to conserve them continue to thrive.

If you did not get a chance to donate, it's not too late! This donation page will remain open until our AOS-BC Conference in June as we continue to raise funds to support as many deserving Caribbean nationals as possible with travel scholarships. Please continue to share the page and encourage your friends, family and networks to donate.

To stay up to date with the work we're doing in the Caribbean and other ways you can get involved follow us on social media @BirdsCaribbean, visit our website (BirdsCaribbean.org) and sign up for our monthly newsletter:

Stay tuned, Global Big Day results loading…

Thank you for believing in us!

Global Big Dayers, we’ve crossed the halfway mark—50% of our funding goal of $20K!!! 🎉 Thank you to all who have donated, shared the campaign, and joined a team!!!

It’s so exciting to see your checklists and fun photos coming in! Who will win top prizes for the most species seen, most checklists submitted, and most endemics seen?! It’s STILL too early to tell!

You can support your favorite team by continuing to share the campaign and inviting your family, friends, and networks to consider making a donation for Caribbean bird conservation!

We are almost there, but we can’t do it without your help! Let’s make one last push to make GBD 2022 the best one yet!

Thank you to our supporters – we are getting there!

Global Big Dayers, we are on fire! 🔥 Thanks to your support, we are almost at 50% of our funding goal of $20K!!! We also have great news! One of our members has generously pledged $1 per species to the team that sees the most bird species on Saturday! This is a wonderful incentive—an opportunity to win prizes for your team while helping us to reach our goal! Going by last year’s stats, the Flying Pintails is the team to watch – logging a total of 714 species! Let’s see if we can beat last year’s record!

We hope that you are as excited as we are to be out birding tomorrow!!! If you are not yet on a team, it’s not too late! You can easily join right here on the page by choosing a team from the list. Invite your family, friends, and networks to join your team and/or simply donate to help raise funds for Caribbean bird conservation.

See guidelines here for how to participate tomorrow. We will update you with more information as the day progresses. In the meantime, share the campaign and rally the troops!

Thanks everyone, we can’t wait to be out birding with all of you in just a few hours!

Birding opens up a window through which we can gauge the health and diversity of Nature. Take some time out, watch the Birds, tune in to Nature, tune in to You. Great Birding Day 2024🌾
