Our Story

Founded in the summer of 2024 by Vera Ventura, a four-time cancer survivor, Breast Cancer Goddess was born from both struggle and strength. Throughout her own battles, Vera experienced not only the physical and emotional toll of cancer, but also the deep financial strain that often accompanies it. At one point, she could no longer work traditionally and relied on the generosity of friends and family to make it through.

Rather than letting that season of limitation define her, Vera transformed it into a mission. She envisioned a sanctuary where women facing cancer could reconnect with their inner light, rediscover joy, and experience holistic healing — without financial barriers. From that vision, Breast Cancer Goddess emerged: a nonprofit dedicated to creating healing retreats, wellness programs, and sisterhood gatherings that nurture the body, mind, and spirit.

After months of paperwork, perseverance, and prayer, Vera received the letter that made it official — Breast Cancer Goddess is now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. That envelope represented far more than approval; it was divine confirmation that this work was meant to flourish.

Our first major fundraiser since becoming an official non-profit will take place on 11.11 in Somerville, MA, featuring a renowned guest speaker on the metabolic approach to cancer, sound healing, and a silent auction.

Because Vera grew up partly in New York City and went to college upstate, she has many dear friends and family in and around the city — and wants to share this incredible milestone with them.
