I am Diana Kelley.

Life has a way of reshaping us through its challenges and triumphs. After taking the time I needed to heal from the circumstances that ultimately led to my divorce, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery. With the support of my new partner, I began rebuilding a life that felt aligned with my heart and values.

During this time, our horses lived 15 miles away from town. Despite the distance, we visited them daily, only staying away when blizzards made the roads impassable. Each visit became a sanctuary for me. Walking into the barn was like stepping into a calm oasis. The smell of hay, the soft whinny of our horses, and the rhythmic brushing of their coats soothed my anxious mind. These moments became my therapy—a space to breathe, to center myself, and to enjoy the peace that washed over me.

It wasn’t long before others began to notice. People we encountered in the community would often say, “I wish I could do what you’re doing, but owning horses is just too expensive.” Their words planted a seed in my heart. We had already been dreaming of finding a place of our own where our horses could be nearby, in our own backyard, where I could visit them any time, day or night. But now, that dream expanded—we wanted to share this gift with others.

As we envisioned sharing our horses with others, I came across an advertisement for a Life Coach certification course. Something about it resonated deeply with me. I hoped it might help me connect with others who shared my holistic mindset, but I had not realized how much it would shape my purpose. Through this training, I began to see how the principles of coaching—healing, resilience, and connection—could align with the calming presence of our horses to create something truly transformative.

You see, holistic living has always been a cornerstone in my life. As a longtime essential oil distributor, I had already embraced the power of natural remedies and wellness. In learning the business of network marketing, I honed skills in website design, delving into HTML, PHP, WordPress, email marketing, SEO content creation, and social media marketing. These skills became not just tools but provided the foundational knowledge needed to create an online presence for Healing Horse Touch.

During this time of learning, I became a Reiki Master, captivated by the healing potential of energy work and crystals. Through these pursuits, I wasn’t just building skills—I was uncovering my own healing and purpose, layer by layer, which has led to a greater desire to not just have friends come over to interact with the horse but to share a more profound equine assisted healing with others.

The road to finding the right property was anything but easy. There were countless moments when the dream felt out of reach, and I was ready to give up. But something—whether it was a quiet voice inside or the unwavering belief of my partner—kept us moving forward. After years of saving and searching, we finally found a property that felt right. When we moved, it felt like the culmination of a long-held dream. Even then, it took time to create the space we envisioned—a place not just for us but for visitors to experience the healing power of horses.

As introverts, stepping into this vision has brought its own set of challenges. Creating an online space where I could share my passion felt natural. However, building an in-person community has been a stretch outside my comfort zone, yet deeply rewarding.

As I embraced this new chapter, I discovered a new passion for designing horse themed merchandise. What began as a creative outlet grew into an Etsy shop where I now share my love for horses through unique products.

It also became clear that my years of homeschooling, combined with my life coaching training, could form the foundation for unique courses. These courses would blend the lessons I’d learned—about healing, resilience, and connection—with the transformative presence of horses.

This vision led to the next big leap: planning a non-profit. The idea was bold but felt right. Starting a non-profit would allow us to make equine assisted learning accessible to more people, especially those who couldn’t afford it otherwise. But, starting a non-profit came with a big price tag.

Around this time, a unique opportunity opened up and I started a part-time job helping family members with disabilities. While it was a new challenge, it also opened a door. The additional income made it possible to fund the beginnings of Healing Horse Touch. This journey has been one of perseverance, gratitude, and deep joy.

Today, Healing Horse Touch is still in its early stages, but the future feels incredibly bright. We’re creating a community where people can discover healing, connection, and renewal through horses. Every step we’ve taken to get here has been guided by a deep passion—for horses, for creating a sanctuary, and for the possibility of transformation. I’m immensely grateful for this opportunity to share the peace and joy I’ve found, and I can’t wait to see where this path leads.
