About Black Exhale

Black Exhale creates sanctuary spaces for collective Black healing that honors both ancestral wisdom and contemporary needs. Our flagship program, Reparations Café, offers community-driven healing sessions focused on integrating collective trauma and fostering resilience in Black communities.

Through carefully facilitated dialogue and embodied practices, we'll examine what becomes possible when we create intentional space to reconnect with our individual, ancestral, and collective resources.

Healing Using Movement with Kierra Foster-Ba

Online via Zoom

In this carefully held space, we create room for:

The wisdom that lives in our collective body
The strength that flows through our ancestral connections
The healing that emerges when we witness and are witnessed
The restoration that becomes possible through intentional gathering
Practices to carry forward into daily life

Please note: This is a space created specifically for Black peoples in the diaspora. RSVP is required as spaces are limited to ensure a supportive environment.

For non-Black allies: If you are not Black but wish to practice advocacy and financial reparations to support this intraracial work, tax-deductible donations can be made here: give.blackexhale.org

About Kierra Foster-Ba

Kierra Foster-Ba has studied the 5Rhythms® with Gabrielle Roth, the founder, for 15+ years. Kierra appears in Gabrielle's Power Wave video and in the documentary "Dances of Ecstasy." She also dances with PURE (Public Urban Ritual Experiment) an international organization of artists devoted to using belly dance to promote peace and end suffering. Her experiences have culminated in her creating her unique body of work called H.U.M. (Healing using movement)!

About Reparations Café

Reparations Café creates a dedicated space for Black peoples across the diaspora to gather in collective healing. When we gather with the intention of witnessing, the field we create becomes a strong resource for everyone individually.

Intraracial healing spaces are vital for addressing the unique impacts of collective trauma within Black diasporic communities. These spaces allow us to process experiences that can only be fully understood by those who've lived them, creating safety that's essential for deep healing work. When we heal together as a community, we strengthen our collective resilience in ways that aren't possible otherwise.

Facilitator Bios

ANTOINETTE COOPER, founder of Black Exhale, brings over two decades of experience in education, narrative medicine, and the arts. Trained in Collective Trauma Facilitation with Thomas Hübl, she creates spaces for collective Black healing that honor ancestral wisdom and contemporary needs. She is the author of UNRULY, about which J. Ayotunde Isola Bewaji, Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the University of the West Indies, writes: "The portals of this work demand tenderness—that same tenderness hypocritically sermonized in the Hippocratic oath. Framed in these poems are intellectual vistas waiting for exploration, making it a must read for all who have suffered and continue to suffer."

JADEN RAMSEY is a bodyworker, somatic coach, and facilitator trained in Collective Trauma Facilitation. Through his work weaving artistry with trauma-informed embodiment practices, he creates spaces of restoration where wholeness can emerge. His commitment to collective repair processes is grounded in somatic practices and supporting community healing. Born in southern California and raised across several US states, Jaden brings a deep social curiosity shaped by his mixed heritage with roots in Trinidad and France, informing his passion for supporting collective repair processes.
