This year, we are amplifying the diversity of voices that drive our work and make positive transformation.

Meet Our Champion Awardees!

John Schaffer is an award-winning neurodivergent independent filmmaker and owner of Wild Asperagus Productions. Wild Asperagus Productions is a video production company based in Flagstaff, Arizona that makes short documentaries primarily with and about disabled people, with a particular interest in autistic people.

NBC Sports, a longtime employer partner, began as a local DC partner and is now part of our national employer partner cohort, working with BroadFutures interns at their Connecticut and Florida offices.

Meet Our Gala EMCEE!

This year's Fall Gala EMCEE is Peter Alexander! Peter is an Emmy Award-winning journalist, the co-anchor of “Saturday TODAY” and Chief White House correspondent for NBC News! A recipient of the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award, Alexander has been recognized by the Associated Press, the Radio Television Digital News Association and the Society of Professional Journalists. Alexander has a close association and passion with respect to disability. He regularly reports on the deeply personal story of his sister Rebecca, who has Usher Syndrome, type III — a rare genetic disorder affecting vision and hearing.

BroadFutures' mission is to celebrate neurodiversity by creating access, cultivating skills and revolutionizing the workplace for all through innovative training, mentoring and paid internship programs. Since our incorporation in 2013, we have served over 400 young people directly and partnered with over 65 employers, creating life-changing early career opportunities, and cultivating inclusive, accessible workplaces. We are currently in a phase of significant growth, both within our local community and on a national scale, guided by a strategic vision to quadruple our impact within the next three years.
