This August, many in our community watched with excitement as Berkwood Hedge School was mentioned during the Democratic National Convention as the place where Vice President Kamala Harris—now a nominee for President of the United States—began her educational journey. And with hearts full, we watched as one of our current sixth graders, a child of a Berkwood Hedge School alum, led the Pledge of Allegiance on the national stage for the convention’s closing night.

The whole country heard the name of our “hidden gem” of a school. On the cusp of our 80th year, we are excited to officially launch Berkwood Hedge School’s Annual Fund 2024-25: This Is Our Moment. This year, we embrace a profound moment to ensure that our school’s remarkable impact and unique vision are seen, celebrated, and sustained for generations to come.

Like other independent schools, we rely on two main revenue sources—tuition and philanthropic giving. As an essential part of our operating budget, our Annual Fund helps provide:

Unique specialist classes led by skilled professionals, including Dance, Latin, Music, Drama, Woodworking, Physical Education, and Art.
Generous tuition assistance that supports an inclusive learning environment that is accessible to as many children and families as possible.
