Our Story — Why We Started Bring the Fire Events

Bring the Fire Events was born out of a simple yet powerful idea: what if fan events didn’t just bring people together for something they love, but also created opportunities? Opportunity to give back, to support meaningful causes, and to make real impact in people’s lives.

We observed that fan communities are passionate, generous, and eager to connect, and we recognized that these connections could fuel something bigger. That’s how Bring the Fire Events began: by using the joy of gathering to support causes that uplift individuals and strengthen communities.

For our very first event, we chose to support two organizations whose work aligns with justice, dignity, safety, and community empowerment:

CTUL — Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en la Lucha

Their story: CTUL is a worker-led nonprofit based in Minneapolis dedicated to organizing, educating, and empowering low-wage and immigrant workers to fight for fair wages, safe working conditions, and a voice in their workplaces and communities. Through collective action and leadership development, CTUL helps workers demand dignity, respect, and economic justice while building power that benefits future generations.

Our work will specifically support CTUL's Emergency Rent Fund for Minnesotan workers and families facing eviction due to ICE Raids. The immigrant community is in dire need of help covering their bills so that they can stay focused on building the movement and staying safe!

The Ali Forney Center

The Ali Forney Center in New York City is the largest organization in the U.S. dedicated to helping LGBTQ+ and at-risk homeless youth. Founded in 2002 in memory of Ali Forney, a young gender-nonconforming person who experienced life on the streets, the Center provides life-saving support through its 24-hour Drop-In Center, housing programs, meals, medical and mental health services, job readiness programs, and more. Their mission is to protect youth from the harms of homelessness and empower them with the tools to live independently and thrive.
