Liberty Sanctuary is a leading equine nonprofit dedicated to protecting America’s most vulnerable horses and banning the slaughter of our cherished American equines. We rescue equines from the slaughter pipeline and offer comprehensive care, training, and adoption programs. Liberty is also home to more wild horses than any sanctuary in Utah. We offer horsemanship clinics to the public and working student opportunities. Liberty is home to over 30 rescued horses cared for by over 60 volunteers from Wasatch, Summit and Salt Lake Counties. Additionally, we partner to offer equine assisted services to those with mental health challenges including veterans with PTSD, patients recovering from substance abuse, people with disabilities and domestic violence survivors. Our national advocacy efforts include launching SAFEACT.org to support the Save America’s Forgotten Equines Act currently in Congress.
