12th Annual Bankra Caribbean Culture Festival

Celebrating Caribbean culture and folk traditions– all ages welcome! Join us for a day of live performances, activities, basket weaving, music, storytelling, and more. The Bankra Caribbean Culture Festival is inspired by the traditional Bankra basket, used across the Caribbean to carry various goods.

The day includes:

Drum circle, stilt walkers, folk performances, and storytelling
Over 20 Exhibitors offering a variety of crafts and cultural goods
Free Basket weaving class ($500 value)
Caribbean games Play-zone for the young and young at heart
Caribbean folk tales interactive installation

Then the night concludes with a concert of over 4 Caribbean musical artists, including the award winning Braata Singers. This year we especially highlight the Independence Milestones of these nations: Antigua & Barbuda (45th), Barbados (60th), Belize (45th), Guyana (60th) and Panama (205th).

Presented in partnership with Senator Leroy Comrie, Deputy Speaker Nantasha Williams, Council Member Ty Hankerson, and the Showing Hearts Foundation.
