This was the reaction of Dr. Steve Smith of SC Institute for Archaeology and Anthropology' (SCIAA) when asked how it felt for our sister organization FHD Forensics to have identified Camden 9B. Private John Pumphrey, 7th Maryland was a young man who fell at the Battle of Camden in 1780. Smith and his SCIAA colleague Jim Legg have been studying, interpreting, and protecting the site of this battle for three decades.

The next identification project is for Camden 11A, a mid-stage Camden Fourteen investigation with solid common ancestral surnames and genetic networks. This subject will require several more months of research and testing. We've just begun YDNA reference testing now.
