Battle for the Houses: Sept. 22 - Oct. 21, 2023
Saturday, October 21st, 4:00 PM EDT
In Person
Find opportunities to Battle for your favorite Ronald McDonald House below!
Story
Inspired by the Duckett family, who stayed at RMHC Ann Arbor while their son was hospitalized, Battle for the Houses is a friendly competition to build awareness and raise funds for RMHC Ann Arbor (GO BLUE!) and RMHC Mid-Michigan (GO GREEN!).
How you can support the “Go Green” or “Go Blue” team:
The competition ends when the clock runs out on today's UM/MSU Rivalry football game! Scores will be tallied and the winner will be announced next week. The winning Chapter will proudly display the RMHC Paul Bunyan trophy…until next year!
Born and raised in Kalamazoo MI, Todd is CEO of Duckett Enterprises, Founder of New World Flood, Co-Owner of Duckett Brothers Facilities Management and Co-Founder of The Black Success Network & Career Training Camp. TJ is a former NFL running back and First Round draft pick by the Atlanta Falcons eventually playing for the Washington Redskins, Detroit Lions, and Seattle Seahawks. He played college football at Michigan State University, where in 2001 he caught a pass in the endzone with plenty of time left on the clock to beat that other school down the road and bring Paul Bunyon home.
In 2022, his youngest son was born with severe congenital heart complications requiring 2 open heart surgeries at U of M in his first year of life. Even though Ann Arbor is only an hour away, being able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House was a huge relief during those extended hospital stays. Todd was already familiar with the the Mid-Michigan Ronald McDonald House after spending many hours volunteering there with Lunch with a Purpose. With both houses holding a special place in his heart, he is ready to Battle for the Houses and bring another trophy home to East Lansing! Learn more at IamTheReignmaker.com

RMHC Ann Arbor:
Ronald McDonald House Charities Ann Arbor has served more than 32,000 families since opening our doors in 1985. Spearheaded by the Junior Service League (now the Junior League of Ann Arbor), the project was a collaborative effort with C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, and the community. Originally able to accommodate 24 families each night, an expansion in 1992 increased that number to 29. A second House built on the 10th floor of C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital added another 12 rooms in 2011. Two additional family guest rooms were constructed in the Main House in 2018, bringing the total number of rooms between our two Houses to 43. www.rmhcannarbor.org
RMHC Mid-Michigan:
In June 2000, after years of research, planning, fundraising and designing, the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan opened their doors to families, partners and donors in Greater Lansing.
Our House serves nearly 200 families annually from local communities across the state of Michigan, families from around the U.S. and families from other countries, with the mission to provide a warm and caring home-away-from-home during families’ greatest time of stress and difficulty—the illness of their child.
Our House provides families with a place they can have home-cooked meals, a place for siblings to play and a comfortable space to sleep close to the hospital room where they spend countless hours with a sick child. Conveniently located across from Sparrow Hospital, families are able to stay close to their children while they are healing. www.rmhmm.org
