Empowering socially conscious, historically marginalized young adults, The Chayah Movement is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of ethical fashion leaders and citizen consumers. Through workforce and leadership development initiatives, we equip aspiring professionals with the tools and mindset needed to drive sustainable change in the fashion industry while inspiring consumers to make thoughtful, impactful choices in their everyday lives.

In 2024, we:

✨ Provided paid internships for young advocates (AITs), ensuring financial barriers don’t hinder their growth while helping sustainable brands like Astor & Orion, Redesign Collective and Dhivya Bala Design Studio expand their capacity.
✨ Hosted two symposiums to educate and inspire communities to rethink fashion’s role in shaping a sustainable future.
✨ Organized and supported multiple clothing swaps, each diverting over 1,000 lbs of textiles from landfills and empowering attendees to embrace conscious consumerism.
✨ Enabled interns and volunteers to contribute over 1,000 hours to local sustainable fashion brands and free community events.
