The stories I have read in the first 45 days of publicly launching Uplift from women across the country hurt my heart.
A 24-year-old single mom in need of housing, diapers, food and wipes because they left an abusive partner. A single mom whose daughter has major health issues, and she had to leave her job to be in the hospital with her during her hospital stay, and medical appointments. The 50-year-old woman whose husband broke her ankle with a 2x4, and was unhoused, living at a women's shelter. A young woman caring for her nephew and older parent whose car was in need of repair and couldn't afford the costs of the repair.
The list goes on, and on, and one. With the average financial assistance being $1,500 per woman in crisis, my goal this season to raise enough money to directly assist FOUR WOMEN + CHILDREN.
Each person in crisis needs one person to reach out to them. See them. Believe them. And help uplift them. Will you join me? Together, we can be the good in four women's lives.
