The mission of the George W. C. Brown Legacy Education Fund (GWCBLEF) is to uplift and empower underprivileged communities by providing them with the necessary educational resources. We are committed to breaking down financial barriers to education, aiming to make quality education not a privilege, but a right for all with a focus on African-American Males, irrespective of their socio-economic status.

Our vision is to foster a world in which every individual has the opportunity to pursue their educational dreams without financial constraints. We aspire to cultivate a generation of enlightened, informed, and skilled African-American males who contribute meaningfully to their communities and the world at large.

The GWCBLEF came into existence in 2011, with the primary purpose of backing the initiatives of the Norfolk/VirginiaBeach Alumni Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. The fund is dedicated to serving the local community and has a special focus on supporting African-American males. As an organization, our commitment stems from our chapter's inception in 1935, and since then, we have been steadfast in our efforts to uplift and empower African-American males in Norfolk and Virginia Beach.

Our signature event is the Black & Gold Scholarship Ball, held annually in December. We look forward to your support as a sponsor of this incredible event.
