This June, more than 300 dancers ages 4–64 will take the stage in A Blooming Future, a joyful, moving celebration of growth, hope, resilience, and becoming.

For many of our dancers, this performance is more than a recital.
It is a chance to feel brave. To feel seen. To discover what is possible inside themselves.

And costumes are a huge part of that transformation.

A costume can help a shy child stand taller.
It can help a teen feel powerful and confident.
It can turn movement into magic and bring an entire story to life onstage.

At Dance Project of Washington Heights, we work hard to keep performances accessible to every family, regardless of income. That means costume expenses cannot fall entirely on parents, and we rely on community support to help make the experience possible for every dancer.
