Together with you we proudly work to enhance the high school experience for all WaRu students.

The Blues Backers (PTO) works behind the scenes to help Washburn Rural High School establish and maintain a proud image by supporting its students' academic and extracurricular activities and the efforts of its staff. The PTO contributes volunteer time and money to Washburn Rural High School with approval as requested.

The PTO provides Washburn Rural teams, clubs, and activity groups with extra opportunities to raise funds by using our stocked and well-maintained concession stands. Coaches and sponsors are encouraged to take advantage of this effective method to help cover program expenses. Jr. Blues, visiting teams, and fans of both sides are all invited to contribute to these funds by purchasing beverages, food, and snacks from our concession stands.

The PTO organizes Post Prom, an exciting late-night festivity for the teenagers in our community. We provide food, games, and prizes as a safe alternative to the risky activities often associated with prom night. The event aims to reduce the chances of young people making harmful decisions and promote their safety through enjoyable, memorable, and rewarding fun.
