At Ladder of Life: A Kitten's Journey, our shelter will be designed to support each kitten's journey from rescue to adoption through a structured, step-by-step approach - our unique ladder system. Each room represents a new phase in a kitten's growth and preparation for their forever home.

We work closely with TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) programs, focusing on kittens that are trapped or found abandoned in litters. In addition, we collaborate with other rescues facing an overflow of kittens, providing support and placement when possible. Our team actively participates in TNR efforts and is working toward establishing a structured, volunteer-led program to assist local businesses with managing feral cat populations through spay/neuter services.

Our primary mission is to reduce the overpopulation of feral cats by rescuing kittens that can be vetted, socialized, and ultimately adopted—offering them a safe alternative to life on the streets.

Unfortunately this comes with emergency situations where our rescue is financially responsible for the medical treatment that almost always exceeds $500 in ER visits. We are not just asking for support, but please spread awareness to contact rescues before removing neonates from their wild environment. They shouldn’t be away from the mother where they usually have their best chance of survival until we are able to step in, if need be, when there is a legitimate plan in place. If you are reading this, please please stop taking babies born in the wild that are not in immediate danger. You are not “saving” them, you are putting their life in more danger. As always, mamas leave their babies to hunt. Unless you can verifiably confirm she is deceased, she doesn’t come back after 8 hours or the babies are obviously sick or injured, leave them be…call a rescue first, get a plan in place. ER visits are 10 times more likely with babies wrongly removed than the cost involved when there is a plan in place.
