A core and beloved TXAF director, Mike Land has embarked on a cross country trip of a lifetime in honor of those who have passed to fentanyl. To describe him in a few words: Father, Christian, Kind, Loyal, Fearless, Brave, and Strong.

Mike’s mission began after losing his beloved son, Preston, in 2021. Determined to raise awareness about the fentanyl crisis, he embarked on a national park tour, sharing Preston’s story in the hope of preventing others from experiencing the same heartbreak. Along the way, he discovered not only personal healing but also a devastating truth—too many people remain unaware of the crisis stealing our children, parents, siblings, and friends. Like many of us, Mike and TXAF’s founder, Stefanie Turner, often wonder: What if we had known? While we cannot change the past, we have found strength and purpose in ensuring others have the knowledge we wish we’d had.

Now, Mike is on a new journey—a Memorial Waterfall Tour—where he is honoring not only Preston but also countless other lives lost. Over the next seven weeks, he will visit 25 waterfalls across the United States, reading the names and showing photos of those we have lost to ensure they are never forgotten.

📌 Late Submissions: After April 10th, names will still be read aloud but without photos. All names will also be honored again at the final stop.
