Hello and warm greetings! I’m George Lopez — a proud father, grandfather, devoted husband, and military veteran. Originally from the beautiful country of Belize, I now call Chesapeake, Virginia home. I have the honor of serving as President of Pickleball WorldClass, a nonprofit organization with a mission close to my heart.

My journey with pickleball began over five years ago, and I’ve loved every minute of it! Beyond playing, I’m a certified instructor specializing in beginner-level classes through Chesapeake Parks and Recreation, where I lead monthly sessions that bring people together to learn, laugh, and grow.

A few months ago, we founded Pickleball WorldClass to make a real difference — especially for families in need and fellow veterans. Our goal is to make pickleball accessible to everyone while building stronger, healthier communities through programs that uplift, empower, and unite.

Each month, we host a Pickleball Tournament, along with free Open Play and Instructional Sessions at every event — open to all, including veterans and their families. These monthly events promote wellness, friendship, and community connection.

This December, we’re celebrating the holidays with a Men’s & Women’s Doubles Tournament on Saturday, December 6th, from 9:30am to 12:00pm at the Dr. Clarence V. Cuffee Community Center in Chesapeake, Virginia — a morning of spirited play, community fun, and holiday cheer.
