For people living with calpainopathy (LGMD2A/R1 & LGMDD4), every single day is a battle against progressive muscle wasting. Coalition to Cure Calpain 3 (C3) was founded in 2010 by patients who understand the urgent need for a cure. We set out to build a coalition of motivated stakeholders to drive research forward and to educate the global community about this rare disease.

Through a successful collaborative effort among patients, their families and friends, researchers, clinicians, advocates, and government and industry representatives, C3 has funded over $3 million, since our founding, to high-potential projects focused on finding a treatment, and ultimately a cure, for everyone living with limb-girdle muscular dystrophy types 2A/R1 & D4.
