The Bloom House mission is to be an inclusive refuge providing a culture of acceptance to vulnerable, at risk, and homeless youth. We use a commonsense approach to those we serve, through our supportive services, which include case management, art therapy, and life skills education to ensure a stable and empowered future.

BHYS is a Basic Center, meaning we offer a Drop In Center and Shelter created in the Basic Center Program model for youth under 18, we offer shelter and services to homeless and runaway youth and any youth in need who may be housing insecure or at risk. Our services include trauma-informed art therapy and case management services, fiduciary services, referrals to other area resources, access to food, bathrooms and laundry faciliites, a safe place to study, gather, learn life skills, have fun, and always - we have safe adults if you or someone you know needs to talk.

All our services are 100% free to RHY (runaway, homeless, at-risk youth) under 18. Those services are:

Art Therapy individual and family sessions
Case Management individual and family sessions
Fiduciary Services and help accessing benefits
Access to food pantry and prepared meals
Access to hygiene products, shower and laundry facilities
Access to clothing closet
24/7 access to drop-in center including wifi, phone, computers, printer, family planning
Individualized life skills education
Recreational & educational groups each week
Referral to additional area resources

We opened our doors on January 1, 2022.

436 hot meals served to youth (554 including family members)
104 youth visits to the food pantry
185 instances of drop in center usage
22 youth visits to the hygiene closet
76 youth visits to the clothing closet
42 youth laundry room usage
449 participation in recreation and educational events
32 referrals for youth to wraparound services
18 referrals to other agencies for calls from young adults age 18-24.
15 referrals to other agencies for calls from adults over 24.

We are committed to being a welcoming space for ALL youth and know LGBTQ+ youth and youth of color are at increased risk of homelessness. Our staff are all committed to our non discrimination policy, but more than that - committed to being that soft place to land for the most vulnerable youth in our community.
